Question 1

How do you work out what size system I need?

Accepted Answer

We look at your last few power bills, when you actually use power, and what your roof and switchboard can take. The system is sized to that. If a smaller system does the job, we will tell you.

Question 2

Do I need a battery?

Accepted Answer

Not always. It comes down to how much power you use after dark and how much surplus your solar sends back to the grid. If most of your usage is during the day, panels alone may be the better spend, and we will say so rather than sell you a battery.

Question 3

Can I add a battery to solar I already have?

Accepted Answer

Usually. It depends on your existing inverter: some pair with a battery directly, others need a hybrid inverter added or replaced. We check what you have before quoting anything, so you are not told mid-install that it will not work.

Question 4

Will it keep the power on in a blackout?

Accepted Answer

Only if it is set up to. A standard grid-connected system shuts down in an outage for safety. Blackout backup needs a battery and the right inverter, and you choose whether that covers a few essential circuits or the whole house.

Question 5

How long does an install take?

Accepted Answer

Most straightforward residential jobs are a single day on site. What stretches it is switchboard work, difficult roof access, a split array across multiple roof faces, or a battery going in at the same time. We tell you which of those apply at quote stage rather than on the day.

Question 6

Who actually does the work?

Accepted Answer

Our own crew, not a subcontractor. The person who quotes the job is the one accountable for it. We do not hand the install to whoever is cheapest that week.

Question 7

What happens after it is switched on?

Accepted Answer

We commission the system, set up monitoring so you can see what it is generating, and walk you through it. If it needs looking at later (a fault, an inverter, a performance question), you call us.

Question 8

What rebates and incentives can I get?

Accepted Answer

The federal small-scale scheme and any current state incentive can apply, and eligibility depends on system size, install date and the accreditation of the installer. No amounts or scheme names go on this page until the current figures are confirmed in writing.

Question 9

Do you cover my area?

Accepted Answer

We work across Brisbane, the southern Sunshine Coast and the northern Gold Coast. The suburbs we cover are listed further down this page. Just outside them? Call and ask. We will give you a straight answer either way.
